Ironbridge, Garfield County, Colorado - Consulting and boundary surveying for Sketch Plan, Preliminary Plan and Final Submittal for a 438 acre, 354 unit residential community with an 18 hole golf course along the Roaring Fork River.

Maverick Ranch, Garfield County, Colorado - Consulting, aerial mapping, surveying and design for a 3,600 acre, residential subdivision with 8 miles of internal roads and utilities.

Upper and Lower Grange Ranches, Garfield County, Colorado - Boundary surveying, platting, road design, and water system design for 3,355 acres of large lot subdivisions.

San Juan Ranch, San Miguel, Montrose, and Ouray Counties, Colorado - Consulting and design for a 4,400 acre, residential subdivision with 21 miles of internal roads and 35 acre plus lots.

Blue Lake Subdivision, Eagle County, Colorado - Phases 2, 3, 4 and 5 of this 270-acre development, including 224 single-family lots and community center development.

Aspen Glen P.U.D., Garfield County, Colorado - Consulting for preliminary evaluation and Sketch Plan presentations and submittals for 643-unit development with 18-hole golf course. Boundary surveys and aerial topography for each of the two ranch properties

Springridge Development, Garfield County, Colorado - Preliminary and final plat for 132 lot single family development on 642 acres.

Deerfield P.U.D., Rifle, Colorado - Civil engineering and surveying for a 108 lot residential subdivision, emphasizing "new urbanism" approach with rear alleys, common garage walls, and shared driveways. Project also required revisions to and channelization of a FEMA established floodplain/floodway.

Mariposa Ranch, Taos, New Mexico - Development plans for this 24 lot 264 acre single family subdivision.

Dakota P.U.D., Garfield and Eagle Counties, Colorado - All engineering necessary for approval by both counties for this 29 acre development including 23 residential lots, and 50 town home units.

Hendrick Ranch PUD, Town of Carbondale, Garfield County, Colorado - 35 acre, 63 single family lot subdivision.

Aspen Junction Subdivision, Eagle County, Colorado - 54 single-family lots and 68 multifamily unit development. (Also, Sagewood, Silverado and Pine Ridge multifamily areas within the Aspen Junction Subdivision.)

Roaring Fork Village, Town of Carbondale, Garfield County, Colorado - Preliminary and final plat development plans for Filing 2, Filing 3, and Gianinetti Subdivisions - 83 single-family lots and commercial tract development.

Eby Creek Subdivision, Eagle, Colorado - 400 acre, 215 single-family lot development, 1-1/4 miles of County Road improvements with extensive retaining walls and guard rails.

Cordillera, The Sanctuary, Edwards, Colorado - Civil engineering and surveying for a 14 lot, luxury, residential subdivision near Vail.

Cordillera, Bearcat, Edwards, Colorado - Detailed grading and drainage plan for the final phase of this 8 acre luxury, residential subdivision near Vail.

Pinyons II, at Arrowhead, Edwards, Colorado - Detailed grading and drainage plan for the final phase of this 4 acre luxury, residential subdivision near Vail.

Eastridge Subdivision, Rifle, Colorado - All engineering and surveying services necessary for review, approval, and construction for this 26 lot upper end residential subdivision.

Eastern Slope of Colorado

Silver Peaks P.U.D., Lochbuie, Colorado - 2,000 residential lots and associated commercial facilities, all infrastructure, community center, and an elementary school site. Rezoning and annexation of the 590 acre parcel into the Town of Lochbuie.

Antelope Heights, Town of Parker, CO - 203 residential lot subdivision with 92 total acres. Subdivision involved working with Parker Water and Sanitation District and Douglas County. Work included the design of streets, water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection as well as the design of storm water collection system, detention ponds and offsite storm drainage system.

Coyote Run Subdivision Filing No. 1, Mead, County of Weld, Colorado - 151 lot residential subdivision with a total of 97 acres. Work involved construction surveying for overlot, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water and lot corner monumentation.

Lundquist Project, Elbert County, Colorado - 176 lot residential subdivision and associated commercial facilities. Lot sizes range from .5 - 1.5 acres. Work involved in this 160 acre development includes: Site grading, street design, drainage study preparation, water and sewer system, raw water irrigation and plat preparation.

Riverdale Peaks II, Adams County, Colorado - 54 lot residential subdivision. All lots are a minimum of 1 acre. Work involved in this 97 acre development includes: Site grading, street design, drainage study preparation and plat preparation.

Kalos Gardens at Saint Catherine and The Cottages at Kalos Gardens, Greenwood Village, Colorado - Full civil engineering services for a three story assisted living facility and five duplex cottages located in the Denver Technological Center (DTC). Project design and development included coordination with DTC's Architectural Control Committee, Greenwood Village Building Department, Castlewood Water and Sanitation District, and Denver Water. Engineering services were also provided for the expansion of Saint Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church, located adjacent to the assisted living facility. The expansion included a two-story addition with classrooms and a gymnasium.

Hazen/Moore Filing No. 2, Castle Rock, Colorado - 76 lot residential subdivision with a total of 29 acres. Work involved construction surveying for overlot, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water and lot corner monumentation.

Heritage Estates, Lone Tree, Colorado - Services provided to Celebrity Development for the development of luxurious lots located adjacent to the championship 18-hole Arnold Palmer designed Lone Tree Golf Course.

Mountain View Court, Jefferson County, Colorado - Services provided for this 3 acre development have included platting and improvement plans for 9 duplex lots.

Elkhorn Ranch, Elbert County, Colorado - Luxurious 1,555 acre development will consist of 250 five acre lots with a central water system. Services provided include processing rezoning, preparation of ponds, plans for platting and boundary and aerial control for aerial mapping. Central water system includes 375,000 gallon tank facility with water treatment, well, and pumping of raw water to treatment facility.

Belleview Self Storage, Unincorporated Arapahoe County, Colorado - This 5 acre self storage facility has provided services including processing, rezoning, Preliminary Development Plan and processing of the Final Development.

Commercial

Rifle Retail Ventures, Rifle, Colorado – Subdivision and infrastructure design for an 11 lot commercial subdivision to include water, sewer, access, grading and drainage. The design included mitigation of flooding from an alluvial fan that drained across a portion of the site.

Air Cam Hanger at Centennial Airport, Arapahoe County / Airport Authority, Colorado – The project consisted of the construction of a hanger for helicopters at Centennial Airport. Special challenges of this project included meeting FAA and Airport Authority regulations as well as grade restraints given the nature of the development.

Airport Gateway Center, Eagle, Colorado – Civil engineering design, boundary, design, and construction surveying, and construction observation for an 84 lot, 232-acre commercial subdivision adjacent to the Eagle County Airport. In addition to site grading, road design and utility design, the project included 2.5 miles of off-site sanitary sewer collection, one mile of off-site water main, a separate irrigation system and three separate accesses onto State Highway 6.

Belleview Self Storage, Unincorporated Arapahoe County, Colorado – This 5 acre self-storage facility has provided services including processing, rezoning, Preliminary Development Plan and processing of the Final Development.

Eagle Interchange, Eagle, Colorado – Surveying and construction administration of a six (6) lot commercial subdivision, including design and permitting of accel/decel lanes through Colorado Department of Transportation, and individual site plans.

Eagle Interchange East, Eagle, Colorado – Civil engineering and surveying for 9-acre commercial subdivision, including permitting for temporary gravel mining operation.

Ute Center, Basalt, Colorado – Commercial and residential lot development within the floodplain including underground parking.

Roaring River Lodges, Basalt, Colorado – Design of acceleration/deceleration lanes and site development for three lot commercial/industrial subdivision, as well as condominium mapping of the buildings.

Walters Town Center, New Castle, Colorado – 8 lot commercial subdivision with town water system improvements and design of alternate water source.

Carbondale Business Park, Carbondale, Colorado – 13-lot light commercial/industrial park with Town Street and acceleration/deceleration lanes for Highway 133.

Gilstrap Subdivision, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – 12-lot commercial park including coordinating with the City for the municipal sewer and water improvements.

Basalt Business Centers West, South, and East, Basalt, Colorado – 30 acres with 39 commercial/industrial lots.

Metropolitan

Silver Peaks Metropolitan District, Lochbuie, Colorado -
Scope of work to date has included design, contract documents and construction staking for a one and one-half mile outfall sewer line.

Design and contract documents for two miles of domestic water line and improvements to Town of Lochbuie facilities.
Design and contract documents for widening of 1 mile of major arterial county road improvements.

Design and contract documents for major drainage improvements, which included a 22 and 12-acre feet detention facility.

Design and contract documents for a 2.5 mile 36-inch raw waterline transmission line which included approximately 50,000 cubic feet of storage and pumping facility, boring under E-470, Colorado Highway 85 and the Union Pacific Railroad, canal lining, legal descriptions for easement acquisition and condemnations and processing of permits with governing agencies.

Municipal Projects

Western Slope of Colorado

County Road 135, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Approximately one mile of roadway improvements including widening and realigning to improve drainage. Also included a new waterline alignment to complete the loop of existing water in the area.

4-Mile Road, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – In conjunction with HNTB, Denver, joint city/county engineering study for this county road with aerial mapping.

Fire Station No. 2, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Site development services for the demolition of the existing fire station and site design of a new fire station and parking area.

City of Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Numerous water, sewer and storm drainage designs. Recent large projects include:

  • U.S. Highway 6 – 2 miles of streetscape improvements including drainage, landscape, and right-of-way work.
  • Pitkin Avenue – Colorado Avenue – 7th Street – 8th Street – Each of these projects involved intensive road, curb, gutter, sidewalk and utility replacement projects for both residential and commercial property.
  • Aerial Topography – Established horizontal and vertical control and set panel points for mapping of the entire City and adjacent areas.

Town of Vail, Colorado – Approximately 1 mile of roadway improvements, Gore Creek Road and Matterhorn Circle.

Owl Creek Road Realignment, Town of Snowmass, Colorado – Surveying and engineering for the design of 1/2 mile of road realignment and drainage improvements.

Snowmass Maintenance Facility, Town of Snowmass, Colorado – Site development services for the new $4,000,000, five-acre maintenance facility, including extensive grading, site work and off-site sewer.

Carbondale Town Center, Carbondale, Colorado – Civil engineering design for town municipal building, including value engineering to maintain town budget requirements.

Eastern Slope of Colorado

Bromley Park Metropolitan District, City of Brighton, Colorado -

  • Updating the Master Drainage Plan for Bromley Park Metropolitan District No. 1, which encompasses 3,170 acres of residential, commercial, industrial and open space.
  • Designing detention facilities, conveyance facilities and storm water infrastructure.

Floodplain & Drainage

Eagle River Estates, Filing IV, Gypsum, Colorado – HEC-2 modeling of floodplain and floodway for 4,500 feet of the Eagle River through this 89 lot residential subdivision.

Gilstrap Enterprises Subdivision, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – HEC-2 modeling of floodplain and floodway for 2,630 feet of the Colorado River through this 12 lot commercial subdivision. In the early stages, HEC-2 modeling of the Mitchell Creek floodplain was performed. The analysis included 200 feet of Mitchell Creek to protest FEMA preliminary mapping determination. FEMA’s determination was changed prior to map publication.

Cotton Ranch P.U.D., Gypsum, Colorado – HEC-2 modeling of floodplain and floodway for 6,600 feet of Gypsum Creek through this large golf course/residential development.

Roaring Fork River Lodges, Basalt, Colorado – Verification of floodplain and floodway for 2,500 feet of the Roaring Fork River in the Town of Basalt, after flooding and structural modifications to the channel.

City Market, Vail, Colorado – Detailed drainage study for new building incorporating underground parking and retail, with a walk out level residential development. Included sand filter treatment of runoff, underground detention, and full hydraulic grade line calculations for affected storm sewers.

Funland, Carbondale, Colorado – HEC-2 modeling of floodplain and floodway for several hundred feet of Cattle Creek to determine what affect the filling associated with the proposed development would have on the floodplain and floodway previously mapped by FEMA.

Cerise and Arnold Ditch Siphon/Harris and Reed Ditch Re-alignment – Approximately 4,400 lineal feet of irrigation ditch realignment through two residential subdivisions, including design of all appurtenances and a section of inverted siphon.

3-Mile Creek Dam and Siphon – 90-acre foot earthen dam and pipeline for trans-basin diversion near Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Salvation Ditch Siphon, Woody Creek, Colorado – Design and construction engineering for 3/4 mile long, 24 inch diameter, inverted siphon across the Woody Creek valley to eliminate the maintenance of five miles of open ditch through unstable areas.

Surveying Projects

Rocky Mountain Natural Gas Company (Black Hills Energy) – Numerous boundary, right-of-way, and improvement surveys in the Roaring Fork Valley, Craig and Meeker areas, including as-built improvement and property line locations for preparation of easement descriptions for a main transmission line running from Rifle to Avon, Colorado.

Lead King Basin, Gunnison County – Reestablished Winchester Claims 1 and 2 originally laid out in 1909. Work included research and field survey, locating original building, and tunnel opening.

Mamm Creek Gravel Pit, Garfield County – Field survey cross-sections of 4.7 miles of the Colorado River between Silt and Rifle for a hydraulic study.

Martino Ranch, Garfield County – Performed boundary survey on this 105-acre section of land.

Stillwater Ranch P.U.D., Garfield County – Prepared improvement, topographic surveys, and subdivision platting of this 1,194-lot residential/golf course subdivision. Construction staking for irrigation ditches, roadways, utilities, golf course and home sites using both GPS and conventional methods.

Arrowhead River Ranch, Eagle County – Prepared improvement survey and platting for a twenty-lot residential subdivision including construction staking for utilities, roadways, and houses using GPS and conventional methods.

Spring Valley Ranch, Denver – Boundary survey, aerial topographic mapping, design and construction surveys and construction staking for a 2,233-acre subdivision.

Rose Ranch, Glenwood Springs – Aerial topographic mapping, road design, boundary survey, and construction staking for a 534-acre tract including 18-hole championship golf course with 322 lots.

Aspen Skiing Company, Ground Control Survey – HCE was subcontracted to Aerometric Air Photo Service to provide the ground control network for the aerial topographic mapping of Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass Mountain Ski Areas.

HARN GPS Control Point Survey – Establishment of three (3) high accuracy reference network points for the City of Glenwood Springs and three HARN points between Gypsum and Glenwood Springs in conjunction with the National Geodetic Survey and the Colorado Department of Transportation. HCE is one of two Colorado firms that have worked with CDOT and NGS to establish this type of control.

HARN GPS Control Point Survey – Establishment of nine (9) high accuracy reference network points and five HARN points for the City of Rifle in conjunction with the National Geodetic Survey and the Colorado Department of Transportation. HCE is one of two Colorado firms that have worked with CDOT and NGS to establish this type of control.

Tagert Lakes, Pitkin County – Surveyed this tract of land consisting of three parcels, which included boundary surveys for conservation easements and parceling purposes.

Schweppe Ranch, Eagle County – Prepared an improvement survey plat for this piece of land located north of the Frying Pan River and Seven Castles area and surrounded by U.S. Forest Service property, which was last surveyed in 1891.

Nickelson Creek Ranch, Pitkin County – A tract of land formerly known as Sharp Ranch. HCE completed an improvement survey using GPS equipment for this land located off of Capitol Creek Road at the base of the Maroon Bells, including the preparation of exhibits and property descriptions for land transfers.

Deer Park Ranch, Garfield County, Colorado – ALTA/ACSM survey for sale of a 3478-acre ranch.

Buck Point Ranch, Garfield County, Colorado – Boundary survey, aerial topographic mapping and road design surveying for 1146-acre ranch.

Upper and Lower Grange Ranches, Garfield County, Colorado – Boundary surveying, aerial topographic mapping, platting, and design surveying for 3,355 acres of large lot subdivisions.

Maverick Ranch, Garfield County, Colorado – Boundary survey, aerial topographic mapping, and design surveying for a 3,600 acre, residential subdivision with 8 miles of internal roads and utilities.

Aspen Glen P.U.D., Garfield County, Colorado – Boundary surveys and aerial topographic mapping for each of the two ranch properties combined for this 940-acre, exclusive development.

School Projects

CMC Lappala Center – General civil consulting, construction staking and construction observation for new classroom building, Colorado Mountain College.

CMC Eagle River Valley Campus - Prepare engineered construction plans for Phase 1 of the Edwards Colorado campus.

Sopris Elementary School – Prepare plans for site improvements to coincide with an expansion of the school building.

Glenwood Springs Elementary School – General civil consulting, construction staking and construction observation for new full service elementary school, Roaring Fork School District RE-1.

Glenwood Springs Middle School – Construction staking for basketball courts and playground area, Roaring Fork School District RE-1. Survey of adjacent properties considered for purchase.

Site Development

Eagle County Airport, Eagle, Colorado – HCE performed utility coordination and utility design for a terminal expansion. In addition, HCE provided construction staking services for all utilities, as well as the parking areas and the county road access.

Machebeuf Apartments, Glenwood Springs, and Villas de Santa Lucia, Carbondale, Colorado – 55 units and 54 units respectively of low income housing apartments, including acceleration and deceleration lanes onto Highway 6 in Glenwood Springs.

City Market, El Jebel, Eagle County, Colorado – Site and utility design for new store with frontage road and design of Willits Lane intersection onto Highway 82.

City Market, Eagle, Colorado – Civil engineering and surveying for new store site, including design of watertight underground storm water detention due to hydrocompactive soils.

Riverwalk, Basalt, Colorado – Commercial business park including three buildings with restaurant, retail, office, and apartment space.

Wendy’s, El Jebel, Colorado – Site engineering for restaurant, service station and lube station combination.

Burger King Restaurant, Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado – Site design for new restaurant.

Hyde Park, Basalt, Colorado – Hotel and commercial site development.

Red Mountain Inn, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Multi-building motel site development and improvements.

Orchard Plaza, El Jebel, Eagle County, Colorado – Design and construction observation of theater and 17,000 square foot retail and office complex with frontage road improvements accessing Highway 82.

Walmart, Glenwood Springs, Colorado – Field engineering and construction staking for store expansion.

Other Projects

The Village, Greenwood Village, Colorado – This 1.93 acre project consisted of the construction of an assisted living center for senior citizens. Work for this project included clearing and grubbing, site grading, construction of asphalt roadways and a parking lot, the building, concrete driveways and sidewalks, utilities, retaining walls and other site improvements.

Winslow Reservoir Dam, Routt County, Colorado – Hydraulic design and hydrologic analysis of the proposed 94 acre-foot earthen dam.

Cordillera, Eagle County, Colorado – Acceleration/deceleration lane design and permitting for access onto Highway 6 for exclusive development.

Aspen Skiing Company, Aspen, Colorado – Engineering design of sewer lines and profile proposed ski lifts. Individual sewage disposal systems for the Buttermilk Ski Area Restaurant (Cliff House) and the gondola building on Aspen Mountain.

Beaver Creek Road, Rifle, Colorado – Surveying and design for 1.2 mile road through U.S. Forest Service property for logging operation near Mamms Peak, south of Rifle.

Cedaredge Hydroelectric Power Plant, Cedaredge, Colorado – Feasibility, FERC license, design, construction observation, and start up.

Hotchkiss Hydroelectric Power Plant, Hotchkiss, Colorado – Feasibility, FERC license, design, construction observation, and start up.
